Did you know that men have pelvic floors too?! Yep. If you’re a person with a penis, then 100% you have a pelvic floor. (Everyone has a pelvic floor) So, if you’re one of those folks who think leaking is for ladies, or people that gave birth – sorry to burst your bubble, but urinary or fecal leakage, pelvic pain, pain with orgasm/intercourse, constipation are equal opportunity dysfunctions – unfortunately.

Urinary leakage in men is more common after prostate surgery (radical prostatectomy = gold standard for prostate cancer treatment), other prostate related issues (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) or other cancer related surgery/treatments, like radiation or chemotherapy.

Constipation, excessive straining, heavy lifting, improper form or breathing can lead to hernias, diastasis recti or pelvic floor dysfunction.

Pelvic pain can present in numerous ways including as nerve pain (pudendal, perineal, sciatic, others) or erectile dysfunction issues from bike riding, tension holding patterns due to weakness elsewhere in the body, poor bladder or bowel habits, compression issues due to muscle tension or other irregularities in your daily habits.
