I was first diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and severe pelvic prolapse in 2011. Like many women I was completely uneducated about my pelvic floor and was told by several professionals that quality of life was gained only by surgery and eating a balanced diet. This left me on my own to search and find my own ways of coping. Finally after many years of battling severe pelvic pain and struggling to find a balance to my health my urogynecologist highly suggested I try pelvic floor therapy. I never knew that type of therapy ever existed and was surprised that after seeing so many Doctors this was the first time it had been mentioned. That is the time I met Dr. Kelly. Dr. Kelly really opened my eyes to the truth. There is SO much more to the pelvic floor than I would have ever known. Not only did she help me with my day to day life she helped me realize I could in fact prevent the pain and discomfort that I had been living with for so long. I had never heard of pelvic floor therapy and honestly thought it would just consist of doing kegels, but I came to understand that it was about gaining the knowledge you need to be in charge of your own body. It was empowering to know that I could do so much for myself and Dr. Kelly gave me that power. In 2020 I finally had my surgery. Dr. Kelly was there before the surgery and afterwards. Helping pave the way to full body healing finally. I have been extremely happy with my progress. I am so thankful to have found someone who was not only able to help, but also motivated and involved in my progress throughout. Dr Kelly is a knowledgeable professional who truly cares. Pelvic floor therapy is a must. Not only for those with pelvic floor issues, but for those who seek to truly understand themselves.
